Why YFS exists
YFS creates pride, confidence and motivation across youth football by telling the stories that matter, while giving volunteers real world experience and opportunities.
For our volunteer network, that means three things. Practical skills in writing, photography, video editing, podcasting and interviewing. Working experience that universities and colleges can't replicate. And a springboard into a career in sports media.
Plenty of our former volunteers now work professionally in media and sport, and we're proud of every one of them. The volunteer programme isn't a bolt-on to what we do. It's central to who we are.

We're a non-profit social enterprise. Any revenue we generate commercially is reinvested in the work we do. Nothing leaves YFS as profit. No shareholders, no dividends, no bonuses. Every pound goes back into delivering more for grassroots football and the communities we serve.
